I returned to the place where I wrote my first blog posts, twelve years ago. This was also my first work travel since before COVID. Hazy reflection ensues.
Wednesday Missives
A celebration of Dad
Our eulogy titled “All the ways Dad failed us” was written with the intent to laugh, not cry, and I almost made it to the end without shedding a tear. Miss you, Dad.
Fart cars, stifling humidity, casual bigotry and fast food
Never Have I Ever… been so negative in a post. Keep reading for some bright sides, which I didn’t earn but for which I’m awfully grateful.
Our little gargoyle
Doing our best in a bad situation. Ready to gripe about it if anyone wants to call. Send margaritas, please!
When your rock starts to crumble
Some stuff about my Dad. And me and my siblings. And life.
Further adventures in France, and in French
Further adventures in France and in French, including cooking, automatons, and an aquarium! Plus, bonus visit to Nantes!
France or La France
We studied French in La Rochelle and explored the region on foot, by bike, and by car. France is much more than Paris!
Maxing out on Star Wars and deserts
Our last stop in the desert and its exciting side-visits. I’m not sure I’m cut out for desert life, but I’m glad we went!
Have you ever wanted to dwell in a cave?
Visiting the troglodyte homes in Matmata and Tamezret, and seeing an oasis first-hand. Beautiful… remote… unnerving…
Finally… to Djerba
The ferry took us to Djerba, where we found two mind-expanding sites in El Ghriba Synagogue and Djerbahood, and then we dipped into the sea.
